About Me
How I got here
Hi, my name is Kirsty, I work as a Transpersonal Arts Counsellor (Art Therapist) in Tinqueux, France. I have a diverse background, culture and experience.
I took the decision to study Transpersonal Health & Wellbeing in England after having my own mental health problems. During my first year of this training I decided to continue my studies to become a Transpersonal Arts Counsellor (Art Therapist). Since then I have acquired a variety of experiences working with all ages; children to elderly in individual and group settings.
When I had my mental health crisis, we lived in the south of France, we were constantly renovating our house, my husband worked long hours, I worked an hour from home (when there was no traffic). All this with three children under 6 years old and two difficult births as well as health problems from severe throat infections to intolerances.
Life took its toll and I fell!
I had to seek help, the hardest thing for me (since I was usually too proud to say I wasn't strong enough). At last after looking into different therapies, I found a wonderful voice therapist who helped me to find my inner voice, an olfactif therapist who help me too. Through this I found the courage to change direction as I was working in a large Engineering company which had changed significantly from the beginning. It was at this point that I decided to do an Art Therapy training in France, however this was not deep enough for me.
That was when I realised I had to make the biggest and most difficult decision in my life.
I moved our family to England so I could study, Anthroposophical Transpersonal Art Therapy.
